The insurmountable pop aesthetics of the seaside area of Athens, particularly towards Faliron, has made an enormous impression on me when I used my bike in order to run through it. While they could cut a pavement all along the seaside area (not to mention anything about a cycling track!), on the contrary, it is being interrupted in many areas and has got many obstacles. I had to make several manoeuvres in order to reach the end of my course which was biennale while I was being constantly interrupted by signs, bumps, etc. However, I felt a certain aesthetic continuation of the course I had followed from the beginning and later on too in regard to what I saw inside the stadium. A metaphysical labyrinth which was being accompanied by the beach's gentle breeze as I was watching people strolling and relaxing, some old people playing chess while their audience – some other old people – were looking at the infinity. Parks with infinite little streets and grass. I truly believe that this part of the seaside area is amazing and constitutes an oasis for the Athenian people. Everything seemed to be imperishable, people full of promises and life passing by slowly with each and every petal. When I passed by the point where the oleander's hurt stream was ending tens of birds made a noise through the stream's trees, next to the bridge and I felt that a certain part of that wonderful area vigorously resisted in order to remind us what it used to be like previously.
...The heaven had justified its title. Until I enter the exhibition I had already seen another exhibition with the only difference being that it was free of charge. It didn't have sixteen sponsors and volunteers but instead it included supernumeraries in a greater more global theatre. When I entered the biennale area I went on walking around deeper into the feeling I got when I was strolling in the seaside in between corridors which were formed by iron cupboards, pillows, videos (which bored me!), notions that referred to me or not, badly settled panels and very few interesting works. I don't know who was related to all of that medley and if you needed an “interpreter” in order to fully understand it but the only thing I can say is that in relation to the concept both the first and the second biennale were very good. Anyway, I went out in the fresh air with relief and I made my next appointment at the mole, the marina, with beers and a good company...
